Built in 2001, it hosts four annual races: two NASCAR Busch Series races, an Indy Racing League event, and a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. The track is a concrete oval track 2.145 km (1.333 miles) in length. The name 'superspeedway' distinguishes this length from the shorter distance .596 mile at the Music City Motorplex.
