The ParthenonThe Parthenon Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) The Parthenon in Centennial Park is what remains of Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition. Designed to replicate the Parthenon in Athens, Greece, it is now a historical landmark that houses 63 paintings by 19th and 20th century American artists. In the warm season, the Parthenon is used as a backdrop for classical Greek plays that are performed on the building steps. Additional gallery spaces are used for a variety of shows and exhibits. Tours are available by reservation. Top of PageDo you know of a Place that should be included here? Please Suggest a place in the appropriate category. |
